In Room 9, we have followed an Inquiry this term on a subject we were already familiar with. Last term we studied the plight of the honeybee, learning loads of information about how important honeybees are, and what's happening to them globally. So... we decided to start this term's inquiry where we finished last term, with an action. We wanted to make a difference, because we know even one small step can make a difference. We have researched about the right types of environments for bees, and the plants they prefer. We know what colours attract bees and what plants provide both nectar and pollen for bees to collect. This week, we planted two small gardens for the bees. We also went one step further, creating some environmental art using river peebles, in bright vibrant 'bee' colours to attract the bees to our gardens. These peebles also have a second purpose; to help reduce the amount of moisture that will be lost on summery days. The gardens look fabulous. Take a look and see what we have done.
