Well done to everyone in Rm 9, your Student Led Conferences were WONDERFUL! You all shared your learning and achievements so well, and I'm sure your families are all very proud.
Our conferences had lots of variety. The children read books from their February reading levels and their levels now to illustrate the achievements they had made in Reading. They were able to show an early writing piece, and one that they are particularly proud of from recent writing. For maths, they talked about their achievements this year, then challenged their families to a game to prove just how quick they had got with basic facts.
We had a WOW interactive wall, using iPads and the app Aurasma. The children had their garden recipe displayed but with their names hidden. When their families held the iPad over the recipes, their pebble art would pop up. It took a while to find the right art (which identified their child's recipe) but all whanau enjoyed the display and such a cool app.
The next activity was to go through our Weebly site and the children's blogs/assessment pages. They have so much work on there to be proud of. Our families were asked to add a comment on their child's page related to their learning and achievements this year, and the way in which they presented their learning.
I think all the children were marvellous, they all were able to show their learning, clearly and with confidence. Well done you all!
